Smile Emporium Trading Requirements

The Smile Emporium is a curated marketplace feature at selected Montserrat events, designed to showcase independent traders, artisans and small businesses.

Participation in the Smile Emporium is by invitation or approved application only.

These Trading Requirements apply in addition to the Pitch Holder Terms & Conditions and the General Event Terms & Conditions.

Applications to trade in the Smile Emporium are assessed on the basis of:

• product quality and originality;
• relevance to the event audience;
• presentation standards;
• previous trading history with Montserrat (where applicable);
• alignment with the ethos and values of the Smile Emporium.

Montserrat reserves the right to decline any application without providing a reason.

Acceptance to one Smile Emporium event does not guarantee acceptance at future events.

All goods offered for sale must be:

• accurately described;
• safe and compliant with all applicable UK product safety legislation;
• of satisfactory quality.

Counterfeit, unlicensed or infringing goods are strictly prohibited.

Montserrat reserves the right to require a trader to remove any product that does not meet these standards.

Smile Emporium traders are expected to maintain a high standard of visual presentation throughout the event.

Stalls should be well-merchandised, branded and inviting to visitors.

Traders should be present and actively engaging with visitors at all times during event opening hours.

Montserrat may provide branding guidelines or display requirements specific to the Smile Emporium - traders must follow these where issued.

All prices must be clearly displayed.

Traders are responsible for all transactions, including cash handling, card payment facilities and any applicable VAT obligations.

Montserrat is not responsible for any losses arising from trader transactions.

Smile Emporium traders must provide a professional and courteous service to all event visitors.

Any complaints from visitors relating to a trader's products or conduct should be addressed promptly and professionally.

Where a complaint cannot be resolved at the event, Montserrat may be required to facilitate a resolution.

Montserrat may photograph or film the Smile Emporium for promotional purposes.

By participating in the Smile Emporium, traders consent to their stall and products being featured in Montserrat's promotional materials.

Traders are encouraged to promote their participation in the Smile Emporium on their own social media channels, tagging Montserrat Events where possible.

Traders must comply with all requirements set out in these Trading Requirements, the Pitch Holder Terms & Conditions and the General Event Terms & Conditions.

Failure to comply may result in removal from the Smile Emporium without refund and exclusion from future events.

These Trading Requirements are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
