General Event Terms & Conditions

Effective from January 2026 • Applies to: Montserrat Events CIC and Montserrat Events & Festivals Limited

These General Event Terms & Conditions apply to every event organised by Montserrat Events CIC and Montserrat Events & Festivals Limited, unless otherwise stated. By entering, attending or participating in any Montserrat event, you agree to these Terms & Conditions together with any event-specific conditions published for that event. These General Terms should be read alongside any applicable Ticket Booking Terms & Conditions, Pitch Holder Terms & Conditions or Smile Emporium Trading Requirements.

About Us

Montserrat Events delivers a programme of community, commercial and corporate events throughout the United Kingdom.

Community events are organised by Montserrat Events CIC.

Ticketed, commercial and corporate events are organised by Montserrat Events & Festivals Limited, registered in England and Wales.

Acceptance of these Terms

By attending one of our events you confirm that you:

  • have read these Terms & Conditions;
  • agree to comply with them;
  • agree to follow any reasonable instructions given by event staff;
  • accept that additional event-specific conditions may apply.

Failure to comply with these Terms may result in refusal of entry or removal from the event without refund.

Admission

Admission to an event is subject to the relevant ticket or accreditation being valid.

Montserrat reserves the right to:

  • refuse admission;
  • refuse re-entry;
  • remove any person from the event;
  • cancel or withdraw accreditation,

where it is considered necessary for the safety, security or enjoyment of others.

No refund will be due where admission is refused or a visitor is removed because these Terms have not been followed.

Security

Visitor safety is our priority.

Security measures may include:

  • bag searches;
  • personal searches;
  • vehicle searches;
  • CCTV monitoring;
  • body worn cameras used by security personnel.

Anyone refusing a requested security search may be refused entry or asked to leave the event.

Police officers or authorised security personnel may confiscate prohibited items where appropriate.

Behaviour

Visitors must behave responsibly at all times.

The following will not be tolerated:

  • abusive or threatening behaviour;
  • violence or intimidation;
  • discrimination or harassment;
  • excessive intoxication;
  • illegal drug use;
  • possession of offensive weapons;
  • vandalism;
  • behaviour likely to endanger others;
  • interference with event operations.

Anyone behaving in an unacceptable manner may be removed from the event without refund and, where appropriate, reported to the Police.

Children

Children remain the responsibility of their parent or accompanying adult at all times.

Unless otherwise stated within the event information:

  • children aged under 15 must always be accompanied by a responsible adult;
  • parents and guardians are responsible for supervising children throughout their visit.

Should a child become separated from their group, please contact the nearest steward, volunteer or member of event staff immediately.

Accessibility

Montserrat is committed to making its events as accessible as reasonably practicable.

Accessibility information specific to each event will be published before the event.

Visitors requiring assistance should contact the organisers before attending wherever possible.

Prohibited Items

Unless specifically authorised, visitors must not bring onto the event site:

  • offensive weapons;
  • illegal drugs;
  • fireworks;
  • flares;
  • smoke canisters;
  • laser pens;
  • dangerous or hazardous materials;
  • drones or unmanned aircraft;
  • generators (unless authorised);
  • items intended for commercial trading without permission.

Additional restrictions may apply depending upon the nature of the event.

Alcohol

Rules regarding alcohol vary between events.

Event-specific information will explain whether visitors may bring alcohol onto the site.

Where alcohol is permitted:

  • excessive consumption will not be tolerated;
  • alcohol must not be supplied to anyone under the legal age;
  • staff reserve the right to confiscate alcohol where necessary.

Anyone appearing intoxicated may be refused entry or removed from the event.

Smoking and Vaping

Smoking and vaping are only permitted within designated areas where provided.

Smoking is prohibited inside marquees, enclosed structures and any other locations where legislation or event signage prohibits it.

Photography, Filming and Media

Montserrat Events records many of its events for promotional, editorial and historical purposes.

Photography, filming and audio recording may take place throughout the event.

By entering the event site you acknowledge that your image may be captured and used by Montserrat without payment or further permission.

Visitors wishing to undertake commercial photography or filming must obtain written permission before the event.

Air Displays and Outdoor Events

Many Montserrat events include outdoor entertainment which may be affected by circumstances beyond our control.

These may include:

  • adverse weather;
  • aircraft serviceability;
  • Civil Aviation Authority restrictions;
  • emergency service requirements;
  • performer availability;
  • safety considerations.

Display schedules, flying programmes and entertainment line-ups may change without prior notice.

Event Changes

Montserrat reserves the right to:

  • amend event programmes;
  • alter opening times;
  • substitute performers;
  • relocate attractions;
  • amend site layouts;
  • postpone activities;
  • cancel activities,

where operational or safety considerations make this necessary.

Such changes will not normally give rise to a refund.

Adverse Weather

Montserrat events operate in a wide variety of weather conditions.

Visitors should dress appropriately for the forecast conditions.

Unless the organisers determine that it is unsafe to continue, events will normally proceed during wet, windy or hot weather.

Some activities may be delayed, suspended or cancelled for safety reasons.

Health and Safety

All visitors must:

  • follow safety signage;
  • obey steward instructions;
  • remain behind barriers where provided;
  • avoid entering restricted areas;
  • report hazards to event staff.

Vehicle movements within public event areas are strictly controlled.

Visitors must not enter operational areas without authorisation.

Lost Property

Any property found during the event should be handed to a steward or the Event Information Point.

Montserrat accepts no responsibility for personal belongings that are lost, stolen or damaged.

Any unclaimed property will be dealt with in accordance with our Lost Property procedures.

Medical Assistance

Should you require medical assistance during the event, please contact the nearest steward or member of event staff immediately.

Qualified medical providers will be available where required by the event safety plan.

Environmental Responsibility

Visitors are asked to help us reduce the environmental impact of our events by:

  • using litter bins provided;
  • recycling where facilities exist;
  • respecting neighbouring communities;
  • avoiding unnecessary waste.

Liability

Montserrat will take reasonable care in organising and delivering its events.

Nothing within these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence.

Subject to applicable law, Montserrat accepts no responsibility for:

  • loss or damage to personal property;
  • travel or accommodation costs;
  • consequential financial losses;
  • disruption caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Visitors attend entirely at their own risk.

Force Majeure

Montserrat shall not be liable for cancellation, postponement, interruption or alteration of an event arising from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to:

  • severe weather;
  • flooding;
  • fire;
  • acts of terrorism;
  • civil disturbance;
  • industrial action;
  • pandemics;
  • Government restrictions;
  • emergency service requirements;
  • aviation restrictions;
  • utility failures.

Data Protection

Personal information collected in connection with our events will be processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable UK data protection legislation.

Whilst every effort is made to keep information accurate and up to date, Montserrat cannot guarantee that all website content is free from error.

We reserve the right to amend website content, event information and these Terms & Conditions at any time.

Changes to these Terms

Montserrat may update these General Event Terms & Conditions from time to time.

The latest version will always be available on our website and will apply to future bookings and attendance.

Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
