Lee Coronation Celebrations
Something for Everyone to Celebrate
We kicked off our Lee Coronation Celebration series with a Night at the Races on 22nd April at the Lee on Solent Community Centre (The Commy). What a fantastic evening it was, with 98 people attending for a night of 6 horse races and an auction pig race.
The centrepiece was the free Lee Coronation Community Celebration street party on Marine Parade on 7th May 2023, maximising the amazing seafront vista Lee-on-the-Solent has to offer. Planned, delivered and managed by Montserrat Events, a Community Interest Company, together with their amazing team of local volunteers.

Travel and Parking Advice
The event will be at its busiest between 13:00 and 18:00. We encourage those who live locally to walk to the event.
Beach Road car park remains accessible from the Cambridge Road diversion (access to Beach Road car park only) or turning left from Beach Road. There is no right turn from Beach Road onto Marine Parade during the event.
Bus stops on Marine Parade (Solent Gardens and Osborne Road) and Milvil Road will be suspended during the event. Bus companies will announce diversions and temporary replacement stop locations.
Road diversions are managed by Sunbelt Rentals Traffic Management. Our event team and volunteers in high-vis jackets will be on-site throughout the day at the organisers tent and marshalling points.
Bring Tables, Chairs and Blankets
Visitors are encouraged to arrive from 11:00 with tables, chairs and blankets to create a BIG street party atmosphere. A designated cleared area will be maintained in front of the stage for the HMS Collingwood Volunteer Band to march and perform at 20:00. You are welcome to bring your own alcohol or purchase from local bars and shops. This is a family event, so please drink responsibly.
